Important reminders for your clients:

What to do when you experience a loss and how the claims process works.

  1. First, mitigate the risks. Start by assisting any injured parties and taking measures to help protect your property from further damage.
  2. Report the claim to your agent ASAP. Your local insurance agent will know what important information we need to file your claim, such as the date time and location of loss, along with any scene photos/video, witness information, and police report, if available.
  3. Your claims adjuster will contact you within two business days—maybe even the same day your claim is submitted.
  4. Keep a record of the adjuster's name, contact information, and your claim number to help claim communication processes run smoothly.
  5. If a lawsuit is filed, let your agent and claims adjuster know immediately and provide copies of the suit papers.
  6. Outside of your agent, assigned claims adjuster, and authorized representatives, we encourage you not to share any information regarding claims with others.
